Milan Rudović · Since 1992

A life with Dobermanns.

I have lived with Dobermanns since 1992. Alisa, my first female, began a lifelong bond with the breed.

The breeder

It began with Alisa.

I live in Futog, near Novi Sad on the Danube. I am an international FCI judge, but it was my first Dobermann, Alisa, who began the journey that became my life’s work. My aim is to breed dogs with sound health, open character and the capacity to work.

The story

1992

The Beginning

In 1992, I was given Alisa, my first female Dobermann. She was never a show champion. What she gave me mattered more: the beginning of a bond with this breed that has stayed with me ever since.

1995

First Steps

In 1995, I brought home Baby Black and Pella Altobello. Then I lost Alisa to gastric torsion and Pella to a drunk driver. Grief made it hard to continue, and I entrusted Baby Black to a friend.

1997

A Year Without Dogs

For a year and a half, I lived without dogs. I went to shows, learned from breeders and became an FCI judge. Yet every time I came home, the yard was quiet. The emptiness was not only around me; it felt like an emptiness in my soul.

2000s

Great Danes & Kennel Registration

I began raising Great Danes and celebrated national and regional champions. I registered Di Casa Montenegro with the FCI as kennel No. 4033. The Danes were wonderful dogs, and in their outline I could almost see a Dobermann, but my heart kept returning to the breed I had lost.

Return

Back to Dobermans

My return would not have been the same without the Od Telepa kennel. Their generous help, knowledge and trust were vital when I took those first steps back. My first Dobermann litter was out of Odi Opium od Telepa, sired by Sant Kreal Tsenturion, and registered under the Od Telepa name. From my next litter with Fedor del Nasi, I kept Bocasa and Belucci.

Hungary

Primadonna (Donna) di Perlanera

I knew the kennel needed new blood, so I chose a puppy from Perlanera in Hungary: Primadonna di Perlanera, whom we called Donna. She became an International Champion, but her place in my life and breeding was greater than a title. Donna was the foundation on which I built the next generations of Di Casa Montenegro.

Today

A Global Kennel

Donna was bred to Guard de Marine de Grande Vinko, Oz di Casa Giardino, Blackjack Bluffer v Jahrestal and Gaudi di Caresi. Today, Di Casa Montenegro dogs live with families around the world. Many people who first came to me for a puppy have become friends. Their trust and kind words mean more to me than they may realise; they give me the strength to keep going. I want to preserve the Dobermann I have known and loved throughout my life — including its cropped ears.
